SELFISHNESS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Kruttika: - after a long time, I am chatting with you online. Where are you now?

Raja: - I am in my hometown only and searching for a new job.

Kruttika: - You are still jobless? What is the point in going back to your hometown? At least, in our city, there are more opportunities than yours.

Raja: - Actually, I am also preparing for the Government jobs. I am giving competitive written exams from my hometown. Nowadays, there are lots of requirement in the Government sector companies.

Kruttika: - What? You are trying for Government jobs? If that was your aim, then why the hell have you wasted so much money in doing your Engineering and MBA courses? Even a class XII student can appear for those exams.

Raja: - Well, beggars are not choosers. I have no other options left, because it’s the global recession time.

Kruttika:- By the way, how is it possible that you have been kicked out of your company despite giving good performances and that guy, Manilal is still there in that company without doing any fruitful job at all. I have got all his information from his colleague Reena, who is my school friend. He knows politics and is expert in oiling his superiors. Whereas, you are simple, straight-forward and don’t know how to do oiling. That is a disaster for you.

Raja: - Boss, I am, what I am. Why should I change?

Kruttika: - I don’t know what have you learned in your MBA course, but you should have learned about Anger Management and Politics more than your finance concepts. No one wants domain knowledge. It’s all about politics, game-plan and tactics in the corporate world. Be a selfish guy. You are a shy type of person, but not a selfish one. That is your problem. You are jobless for many months. Have you ever forwarded your resume to me, or have you ever requested me to help you out? You have not done that. But, whenever someone is in trouble, you just raise your voice in such an efficient manner, that the person gets help from the others. When it comes to your problem, you just become shy about it and try to solve it on your own.

Raja: - I don’t want anyone to interfere in my personal life.

Kruttika: - Then, why do you interfere in your friends’ personal life?

Raja: - the concept of friendship is different. As a friend, I have some right to interfere in their personal life to help them out.

Kruttika: - Am I not your friend? Your action shows that you don’t regard me as your friend. By the way, don’t you have any other works to do, rather than writing those bullshit articles on different issues?

Raja: - that is just a time pass for me. I just love to fly like a free bird in the sky of my own imaginary world.

Kruttika: - ok, fine, but whatever craps you write, just keep it with you. Better don’t publish it. Who the hell are you? Why are you worried about those issues? Remain confined within yourself and in your work only. Learn to be selfish, Raja. You don’t have a single penny in your wallet and you are daring to fly. First learn how to earn bread and butter for your own to survive yourself and then think about others. Unless you know how to grab things or work done for yourself by rubbing oil on the heads of other people, you can never be a successful man. You will remain as a useless object of the world who just keeps on emitting different types of sounds in the society. Oho! I forgot to tell you that my marriage has been fixed with my reporting manager in our company. He is just 5 years elder to me. I am hoping to get a double promotion next year, as he is in a top position of middle level management in the company.

Raja: - Congrats for that. Anyway, I am feeling very sleepy now. Talk to you later. I am signing off for now. Goodnight.

****************

Arindam: - Arrey, Raja, tonight you are going to sleep so early. It is only 1.30 AM now. Is there no one online to chat with?

Raja: - Kruttika was online and gave so many lectures, which went above my head. The only thing that I have understood is that “SELFISHNESS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS”.

Arindam: - Hmm…go to sleep, Raja. After a dark sleeping night, whenever you open your eyes, there is always a sunny day, provided that the dark clouds are not there in the sky.
