COMPETITIVE WRITTEN EXAMS ARE LIKE T-20 CRICKET MATCHES

Deven: - Dekho Ramprasad, you are just wasting your time in looking for jobs in the private sector.

Ramprasad: - Aur koi option bhi toh nahi hain.

Deven: - why are you not trying in the public sector?

Arindam:- At present, there is a huge demand in the PSU banks. All the old employees are either getting their retirement in normal time or taking VRS. So, it is creating a huge gap in the middle layer of these PSU Banks. Now, the top management of these banks wants to recruit fresh and young people to compete with the private banks like HDFC, ICICI and HSBC.

Ramprasad: - Wow, that’s really great. But, their recruitment procedure is very tough. It is very difficult to pass those written exam.

Ratna: - Bhaiya, dekho kaun aaya hain.

Deven: - Arrey, Mamaji, aayiye aayiye, abhi abhi aap ka hee jikar ho raha tha….bahut lambi umar hain aap ki, aayiye, baithiye.

Mamaji: - arrey, tum log itna udaas kyon dikh rahe ho ? Kya hua Ramprasad? Why are you looking so tensed?

Arindam: - Mamaji, Ramprasad is much tensed about his career. In this global recession, not a single private company is in a position to recruit people. Ramprasad is also tensed about the fact that it is hard to crack the competitive written exams.

Ratna: - aap log baath kijiye…main chaaye baana ke laati hoon.

Mamaji: - Accha toh yeh baath hain. Arrey, my friend Bhavani Shankar is expert in cracking competitive exams. In our times, he cracked almost all the competitive written exams. Ek kaam karo, tum log uske paas chale jaao…He will give you some tips. But, please take care of your moustache. Deven, please stick a dummy moustache before going there, because he never gives appointment to any person, who don’t have moustache.

Bhavani Shankar: - Yes, my name is Bhavani Shankar only. I have heard everything about you from your mamaji. Actually, I have forgotten all the tips to crack the written exams. You may be aware of the fact that the examination format has totally changed these days. I gave those exams around 30 years back.

Arindam: - Oh! It is so sad that you cannot help us also with some tips. Becharey, Ramprasad ka kya hogaa?

Bhavani Shankar: - Don’t get so disheartened. Recently, my daughter has got a job in a reputed PSU Bank. She has been able to crack almost all the written competitive exams. I have told her about you people. She will guide you people. Urmila, please come downstairs. Ramprasad and his friends are waiting to hear your tips.

*****************

Urmila: - See, in any competitive written exam, you should not give more than 0.20 seconds in a question. Practice is the key. Try to do those questions first, which are getting solved by you within 0.10 seconds each. Within the first 30 minutes, try to finish the easiest questions first, and then do the hard ones in the next one hour. In the remaining time, re-look at those questions, which are very difficult and time-consuming, e.g. the non-verbal ones.

Arindam: - Ha ha ha…Urmi ji, you are giving us the tips, as if you are telling us to play the T-20 Cricket. In T-20 cricket also, in the first 6 overs, the batsmen just swing their bats at the loose balls to score runs rapidly. Then in the next 10 overs, they settle down a little bit to build partnerships and in the last 5 overs, they try to hit 4’s and 6’s in yorkers and bouncers also.

Urmila: - You can laugh at it. But, if you can follow this strategy, you will surely get success in a competitive written exam. I hope that Ramprasad will surely keep my request.

*******************

Ramprasad: - Hello Urmi, there is a good news. I have cracked the written exam of a PSU Bank. Thanks to you Urmi for your tips. I want to meet you tomorrow at 5 PM at the CCD near your house. Surely, the “COMPETITIVE WRITTEN EXAMS ARE LIKE T-20 CRICKET MATCHES.”
